History makes sense: Etruscans, Romans, the Medicis, the Princesses of Savoia-Aosta… all winemakers HERE. You’ll be personal guest of the owners and you’ll have lunch facing the landscape that’s on the background of Leonardo Da Vinci’s Monna Lisa (the Gioconda).

The Sette Ponti Estate is located in the Chianti, between Arezzo and Florence, and takes its name from the number of bridges that cross the river Arno between the two cities.

The first of these bridges, the Buriano Bridge can been seen in the background of Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa.

Upon your arrival you will be greeted with a welcome drink at the historic (centenary vines) Vigna dell’Impero with Champagne Grand Tour (selected by A. Moretti himself) local cheeses, breadsticks and focaccia. In winter aperitif will be served in front of the fireplace in the “Hall of Ceremonies”. We’ll then walk in the vineyards and visit the cellar with an expert who will show you the secrets of this company, all based on passion and quality. Then, in the “Ballroom Hall”, professional vertical tasting which will include Oreno 2003 (# 5 in 2005 in WS’ TOP 100), Oreno 2010 (94 pts by Wine Spectator), Oreno 2015 (# 1 in the Best Italian Wine Awards*).

Shows loads of black licorice, blackberry and toasty oak. Full-bodied, with supersilky tannins and a long, long finish. Has WONDERFUL concentration and balance. Structured.

Beautiful aromas of dried cherry, plum and blackberry, with hints of dark chocolate. Full-bodied, with soft, silky tannins and a fruity finish. Balanced and DELICIOUS. Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Best after 2011. 7,500 cases made. —JS

LUNCH in the private villa with the owners: exclusively seasonal fresh ingredients, with organic products from the garden and with game from the estate’s hunting reserve.
A mini-cooking-show: you can watch the preparation of lunch in the kitchen with our chef. The menu, which follows a seasonal variability, includes: first course (gnocchi or homemade tagliatelle), main course with side dish, dessert. Wine pairing: Vigna dell’Impero and Oreno, plus a surprise tasting (which could be a barrel sample, a preview usually reserved for journalists, a new wine, the passito, our wine celebrating Twentieth anniversary… or, who knows?).
